Red Hill House, Canberra
Now if they’re building houses like this in Canberra, we might even move up there. Despite the freezing cold weather and politics it refreshing to have a ray of sunshine from our capital city in the form of this stunning minimalist house with a singular approach to architecture, interiors and landscape. The Red Hill house designed by Mathieson Architects in the ACT has six bedrooms and bathrooms, tennis court, house garage, pool, gym, steam room, black and white colour palette and row of hedges concealing it from the street and the Canberra press. The house was awarded The Robert Foster Award for Light in Architecture at the ACT Architecture Awards 2019 and Australian Institute of Architects ACT Awards 2019 in the category Residential Architecture – Houses (New).
