Can you find a needle in a haystack? Literally

Now you would have heard a term “A needle in a haystack” (or even used it as a good excuse to getting out of doing some work), The Cambridge Dictionary defines it as: Something that is impossible or extremely difficult to find, especially because the area you have to search is too large: “Finding the piece of paper I need in this huge pile of documents is like looking for/trying to find a needle in a haystack”. Now New York-based Italian artists Sven Sachsalber has taken this literally in his art performance. The artist allowed himself two days (48 hours) to find a needle in a haystack at the Palais de Tokyo art space in Paris. The needle was hidden by the Galleries Director/President Jean de Loisy before the performance. The artist wants to know the truth – what is it like to actually find a needle in a haystack? And is it even possible? Well did he do it? Yes, in 30 hours. And described his challenge as an exercise in “literalism”. We would have been more impressed if he was looking for a piece of hay in a needle stack though, oh well, maybe next time. Photo Source: HUH Magazine.
